My Jobs Kenya ("we", "our", "us") is committed to protecting your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect when you use our platform, how we use it, and the choices you have. By registering for or using My Jobs Kenya, you agree to the practices described in this policy.

We collect information you provide directly to us, as well as information generated automatically as you use the platform:

• Account information: full name, phone number, email address, and password.
• Payment information: your M-Pesa registered phone number, used solely to process payouts.
• Gig activity: the gigs you apply for, complete, or submit, and any messages exchanged as part of a gig.
• Device & usage data: IP address, browser type, device identifiers, and pages visited, collected automatically when you use the site.
• Communications: messages you send us via the Contact page, email, or WhatsApp support.

2. How We Use Your Information

We use the information we collect to:

• Create and manage your account.
• Match you with relevant gigs and process gig submissions.
• Send payouts to your registered M-Pesa number.
• Communicate with you about your account, gigs, payouts and subscription.
• Improve and secure our platform, and prevent fraud or abuse.
• Comply with legal obligations under Kenyan law, including the Data Protection Act, 2019.

3. M-Pesa & Payment Data

We collect your M-Pesa registered phone number solely to send you payouts for completed gigs and to process subscription payments you authorize. We do not store your M-Pesa PIN, and we never have access to your Safaricom account credentials. Payment processing is handled through secure, licensed payment channels.

4. Sharing Your Information

We do not sell your personal information. We may share limited information with:

• Gig partners: only the information necessary for you to complete a specific gig (for example, your first name for a chat-support task).
• Payment processors: to complete M-Pesa payouts and subscription billing.
• Service providers: who help us operate the platform (hosting, analytics, customer support tools), under confidentiality obligations.
• Legal authorities: where required by Kenyan law or to protect the rights, property or safety of My Jobs Kenya, our users, or the public.

5. Data Retention

We retain your account and gig activity data for as long as your account is active, and for a reasonable period afterward to comply with legal, accounting, or reporting obligations. You may request deletion of your account and associated data at any time, subject to legal retention requirements.

6. Your Rights

Under the Kenyan Data Protection Act, 2019, you have the right to:

• Access the personal data we hold about you.
• Request correction of inaccurate or incomplete data.
• Request deletion of your personal data, subject to legal exceptions.
• Object to or restrict certain processing of your data.
• Withdraw consent where processing is based on consent.

7. Data Security

We implement technical and organizational measures — including encryption in transit, access controls, and regular security reviews — to protect your information against unauthorized access, loss, or misuse. However, no method of transmission or storage is 100% secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.

8. Children's Privacy

My Jobs Kenya is intended for users aged 18 and above. We do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 18. If we become aware that we have collected data from a minor, we will take steps to delete it.

9. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of material changes by posting the updated policy on this page with a new "Last updated" date. Continued use of My Jobs Kenya after changes take effect constitutes acceptance of the revised policy.
